3.Liquid Limit Device

Specification :
Hand Operated Liquid Limit Device fitted with blow counter complete with casangrande grooving tools and a Gauge Block. The liquid limit device as a soil test equipment is defined as the moisture content at which the soil passes from plastic state to liquid state; it is very helpful in the classification of the potential properties of the soil material. The liquid limit device consists of a hard rubber base carrying a sliding carriage assembly to which a brass cup is hinged. 4.Liquid Limit (Electrically Operated)

Specification :
We offer electrically operated liquid limit devices that are used in the classification of the properties of the soil material which in turn is used for the moisture content at which the soil passes from plastic state to liquid state. The liquid limit devices have very simple and sturdy construct. The liquid limit devices are operated with electrically and have blow counter to complete with casangrade grooving tools and a gauge block. The liquid limit devices have fairly simple operating principle. These have a hard rubber base which carry a sliding carriage assembly to which a brass cup is hinged. The cup is set in to and fro motion covering a height of 1 cm. The cup hit the rubber base pad each time by the help of a lead screw provided at the back of the sliding carriage. These apparatus can sustain an operating voltage of 220V, single phase, 50 Hz, AC supply. |

5.Speedy Moisture Meter
QUALITY STANDARD : As Per IS 2720 (P-V)
Specification :
Moisture content of soil is generally measured as a ratio of the weight of water to the weight of solids, expressed in percentage. As soil behavior depends on its moisture content, it is one of the basic parameters defining the soil condition. The ‘Moisture’ a content of soil, can be obtained quickly with reasonable accuracy by using a Speedy Moisture Meter. The test technique is based on the fact that water will react with calcium carbide to form acetylene gas. The quantity of acetylene gas produced is indicated on a built- in pressure gauge. A conversation formula gives the corresponding moisture content based on dry weight. Each soil test equipment is supplied complete in a wooden carrying case consisting of pressure vessel with clamp for sealing cap, rubber sealing gasket, pressure gauge in percentage moisture content 0-25% or 0-50% on the wet weight basis (6 gm) counter poised balance for weighing samples, scoop for measuring calcium carbide, bottle of calcium carbide (500gm), a set of 4 steel balls and a cleaning brush.

6.Soil Cone Penetrometer
QUALITY STANDARD : As Per IS 2720 (P-V)
Specification :
Cone Penetration Test of Soil is based on the relationship between moisture content and the penetration of the cone into the soil sample. The moisture content at a given depth of penetration of the cone is taken as the liquid limit. The Automatic Penetrometer (Digital Timer) is supplied complete with a stainless steel penetration test cone 35mm long with a smooth polished surface and an angle of 30° and a Penetration test cup 55mm dia x 40mm deep. Facility exists for adjusting cone height in relation to the specimen

8.Sand Pouring Cylinder
QUALITY STANDARD : As Per IS 2720 (P-XXVIII)
Specification :
The soil testing equipment is used for determination of the dry density of compact, fine, medium grained soils and for layers not exceeding 50cm thickness. A circular hole is dug into the ground, all the soil from within it collected, weighed and dried, and the hole back filled with a standard uniform sand or fine gravel, poured from a calibrated container for calculating the volume of hole. 9.Proctor Compaction Test Apparatus
Specification :
Soil compaction is of utmost requirement for constructing earth fill for dams, canal embankments, reservoirs, highways, runways and railways. The relationship between soil moisture content and compacted dry density largely determine the construction specifications and quality control of compacted earthfill. To check the strength of the soil the density of the soil is taken into account and hence the quality control is checked otherwise.

1.Direct Shear Test Apparatus
QUALITY STANDARD : As Per IS 2720 (P-XIII)
Specification:
The Direct Shear test apparatus consist of a square or circular box divided into two halves. The specimen, contained in the box, is subjected to a constant normal load while an increasing horizontal force is applied to one of the sections of the shear box. This force causes a shear failure along the juncture between the box sections of this. The shear force and the normal load are measured directly. The rate of strain is adjusted by the speed of the horizontal force applied. The loading unit has V-strips on which the shear box housing rests. The load yoke in these direct shear test apparatus helps counter balance the loading system. The lead screw connected to the shear box housing helps application of shear stress.
Direct Shear Test Apparatus comprises of Direct Shear Box assembly for 60mm x 60mm x 25mm thick specimen, Shear Box Housing, Specimen cutter, Loading Unit with a capacity of 8kg/cm2, set of weights to give normal stress of 3kg/cm2, Proving Ring duly calibrated by Nccbm (Govt) of 2.5kN (250kgf) capacity & 2 (Two) Dial Gauges 0.01mm x 25mm travel. The load yoke with direct and through level system for applying normal load upto 8 kg/cm2 capacity, fixtures for proving ring, brackets for holding consolidation and strain dial gauges are also provided in these direct shear test apparatus.

2. Unconfined Compression Test Apparatus
QUALITY STANDARD : As Per IS 2720 (P-X)
Specification :
The unconfined compression test apparatus for soil includes uniaxial compression test in which the test specimen is provided with no lateral support while undergoing vertical compression. The test measures the unconfined compression strength of a cylinder of cohesive or semi cohesive soil and indirectly shearing strength. The shearing strength of the soil is generally taken to be one half of the unconfined compression strength. The unconfined compression test apparatus is used normally on a undisturbed sample with its natural moisture content. It may also be performed on remolded samples to evaluate the consequences of disturbances and remolding.
Unconfined Compression Test Apparatus is normally useful in soil mechanics laboratories. The unconfined compression test is the simplest and quickest method for evaluation of the shear strength of cohesive soil in the laboratory or in the field. The results from compression test apparatus are widely used in ascertaining the relative consistency and sensitivity for estimating the ultimate bearing capacity. The apparatus consists of following:

3. Lab CBR Test Apparatus
QUALITY STANDARD : As Per IS 2720 (P-XVI)
Specification :
The CBR test apparatus used to determine the relative bearing ratio and expansion characteristics under known surcharge weights of base, sub-base and sub grade soils for the design of roads, pavements and runways. Tests can be conducted on all types of soils including sand, gravel and washed stone (passing through 20mm IS Sieve). The CBR test apparatus is used extensively in selection of materials and control of subgrades. The Procedure consists of loading soil with a circular piston, 50mm dia face and maintaining a penetration rate of 1.25mm/min.
